14 Days to go!
Greetings 2010 registrants. We are two weeks from packet pickup which is friday May 28th 2-9pm at the La Plata County Fairgrounds at 25th and Main. Please remember your photo ID for check in.
The week of May 17 we will send out via email "need to know" sheets by event. We will also post on website. Please read these carefully as they will give you step by step instructons for your event(s) and answer most of your questions and make your weekend go very smooth. There is a course map and profile on the Durango Coca Cola Road Race page, look for the profile button.
We will also post on our website the same week the preliminary roster for the ride to Silverton. Email us when you have viewed it with discrepancies only.. We are trying to flush out any errors pre packet pickup. Inevitably we will get requests from people to change their road race category (especially masters men), we are not making changes to those as we are at field limits for those classes. You will race what you signed up for unless it violates USA Cyling guidelines.
A reminder that we have a full four days of activity, visit our website for details on the events pages. Keep in mind kids races, live music at the criterium, Tour de France movis Sat night and the bike swap. There is something for everyone.
If we have not mentioned it already, we are filming the IHBC ride to Silverton via helicopter, we are using the footage for historical purposes as well as prep for the 40th in 2011. We are excited to get footage of the riders leaving with the train whistle, the racers on the road, and the incredible scenery. We are also geting footage from official vehicles and helmet cams. Make sure you smile!
There are still lodging options in town, our website has info on our host providers.
If you have a friend who wants to join the fun, the Quarter Horse still has open spaces and for the racer type, the Morehart Murphy Criterium and Alpine Bank Time Trial still have space.
Thanks, and we will send out more updates next week. You can also follow our twitter updates on our website.
