Are you an all- arounder? If so sign up for the omnium competition that combines both fitness and skills to crown the King and Queen of the mountain. This is a combination of the Road Race and Mountain Bike Race (plus Fri night Fat Tire Crit for Pro men and women ONLY) for an overall prize list. The Omnium is a points-based scoring system derived from finishing placings in each event. The road race finish is the tie breaker if need be.

Reminder: Riders must be past Coal Bank pass by 12:40pm and Molas Pass by 1:20 pm or you will be pulled from the event and transported by vehicle. For safety reasons we cannot have riders descending into Silverton when the road reopens and hundreds of cars start returning to Durango

Important Information:

Road Race

Saturday May 23, 7:55 AM, Durango Transit Center, see the Road Race Page for more information. All riders must be past Coal Bank Pass Summit by 12:40 pm and Molas Pass by 1:20 PM. Riders not past those points will be transported by bus to Silverton, and their bikes will be trucked to Silverton, and then to Durango bike pick up at the Transit Center if not picked up in Silverton in time. Roads open to vehicles at 1:30pm and all riders must be off by then! There is no riding back to Durango - you must take private transportation or secure tickets on the train or event provided transportation ($40.00).

Due to the road closure no team or support vehicles are allowed on course. Riders must be self sufficient. Yellow line rule in effect including closed road portion. Please be cautious and aware of emergency vehicles on course that may be coming in either direction including southbound lane from Silverton. You must be attentive! If the event is cancelled due to weather there will be no reimbursement, rollover, or event postponement.

Mountain Bike Race

Sunday May 24, 11am-4pm in Buckley Park, see the MTB Page for more information. An urban cross-country race with a serious dose of single track, the Morehart Murphy MTB Race has it all.

Rip through the closed-off downtown. Tear up the hill and around Fort Lewis College on the best single track in town. And cap it all off by riding through the window at Steamworks Brewing Company.

This is a mountain bike race like only Durango can provide.

Pro Only Categories; New for 2020 Fat Tire Crit!

Friday May 22, 6-7 PM in Buckley Park. Warm up on course at 6-6:10 PM. You will have an additional event in the K/Q Omnium this year, a Fat Tire Crit. The crit will be 20 minutes of an urban lap in and around Buckley Park on Friday Evening. The Women will race at 6:10pm, the men will go at 6:30pm. If you do not race in the Fat Tire Crit on Firday you will likely not be in contention for the overall K/Q prizes. The Fat Tire crit, Road Race and MTB all carry equal weight in the overall points system. Miss one event and you'll miss out on the chocolate trophy. Pro Men & Women: 1st $300, 2nd $150 3rd $50. There is no additional charge to overall omnium for the Fat Tire Crit addition.

Return Transportation:

Riders who need return transportation from Silverton can purchase a bus or train return trip. Bikes are also transported. Charge is $40. Bike pickup is 3-7pm at Durango High School (Main and 24th). Riders are not allowed to ride back from Silverton. When you register for a Saturday event, return transportation will be an option you can add at that time.
